Cabbage is one of my all-time favourite vegetables and this buttery sautéed cabbage with garlic and onions is simply the best. So simple it only takes 5 minutes.

Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 1/4 of a large cabbage
  • 6 flat beans (or 12 green beans)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 15g butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    1. Finely slice the cabbage and onions. Crush. the garlic and finally slice the beans lengthways into long and thin strips.

    2. Melt the butter in a hot pan, add the onions and sautée until they are translucent. Add the garlic and fry for up to one minute.

    3. Add the cabbage and green beans and continue to stirfry on high heat for 5 to 10 minutes. If the pan is too hot or too dry, add a little water to activate some steaming.

    4. Season with salt and pepper, garnish with herbs of your choice then serve.
