Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 1-1/3 cups beef broth
  • 5 Tablespoons gluten free reduced-sodium Tamari (or soy sauce if not GF)
  • 3 Tablespoons mirin
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 small yellow onion (halved then thinly sliced)
  • 1 lb top sirloin steak (sliced very thin and against the grain)
  • white rice (for serving)

Instructions

    Bring beef broth, Tamari or soy sauce, mirin, and sugar to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium then add onions and simmer until onions are tender, about 5 minutes.

    Add beef slices into the broth then cook until just barely done, about 1-2 minutes. Serve over white rice.
