Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh green beans
- 4 slice thick bacon
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp light brown sugar
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- 2
Trim the ends off of the green beans and blanch them. To blanch, place the green beans in a large pan of boiling water and cook for 2 minutes. Remove the green beans, drain and place them in a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain on a paper towel and dry them off.
- 3
In a large frying pan over medium heat, partially cook the bacon for 5-6 minutes until the slices are just beginning to brown but are still pliable. Remove and drain on a paper towel. Cut each slice in half.
- 4
In a small pan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the salt garlic powder and pepper. Mix well.
- 5
To assemble the green bean bundles, take about six beans and wrap them securely in a piece of bacon. Place the bundles' with the bacon seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet and repeat with the remaining beans and bacon.
- 6
Sprinkle each bundle with brown sugar and drizzle with the butter mixture.
- 7
Roast the beans until the bacon is cooked through and browned, which should take about 20-25 minutes. Serve immediately.
