  • 200 gram winged beans
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

    Prep winged beans: Chop and discard both ends of each winged bean, then cut into 7-8 sections.

    Sauté aromatics: Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot, add oil and sauté garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds or until fragrant.

    Add beans and seasonings: Add winged beans, oyster sauce, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 1 minute.

    Cook the beans: Add water and mix well. Cover the pan with a lid, and cook for a couple of minutes or until the beans are tender but still retain their crunchiness.

    Add wine and sesame oil: Add Shaoxing wine and stir for 30 seconds. Turn off the heat, then drizzle with sesame oil.

    Serve: Transfer the dish to a serving plate and serve it immediately with steamed white rice.
