Ingredients

- ½ cup Steel Cut Oats
- 1 ½ cups water
- ¼ cup milk (any kind – dairy or plant-based)
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
- 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Fresh strawberry slices, for topping
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- 1
In a small saucepan, bring water and a pinch of salt to a boil. Stir in the steel cut oats and reduce the heat to low. Simmer uncovered for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft but still have a slight bite.
- 2
Once the oats are cooked, stir in milk, butter, and cinnamon. Let it simmer for 2-3 more minutes until the mixture thickens and gets creamy.
- 3
Mix in the raisins, brown sugar, and half of the chopped pecans. Stir gently so the sugar melts in and everything is warmed through.

Spoon the oatmeal into bowls. Top with the remaining pecans and fresh strawberry slices. You can drizzle a little more milk or a tiny bit of honey on top if you want.
