Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 8 chicken drumsticks (skin on or off, rinse chicken and pat dry with paper towel)
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced, or garlic powder)
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar (or any white vinegar - optional to cut through some of the sweetness)
  • 1 drizzle sesame oil (about 1-2 teaspoons, optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 430°F | 220°C.

  2. 2

Arrange drumsticks into a baking dish. Pour in the sauces and vinegar and add the garlic. As an option, add a drizzle of sesame oil and vinegar, and rub the sauces into the chicken until evenly coated. Season with salt to taste (about 1/2-1 teaspoon).

  3. 3

Cover with foil and bake in the oven for 25 minutes, or until just cooked through.

  4. 4

Change oven settings to broil/grill on medium heat. Uncover and allow chicken to broil until golden browned. Flip drumsticks and allow to brown on the other side.

  5. 5

Serve over rice, with mashed potatoes, noodles or steamed vegetables!
