Ingredients

- 250 gm Chicken
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 4~5 Black peppercorns
- 1 Javitri
- 2 green Cardamom
- 4~5 Cloves
- Small piece of Cinnamon
- Dry red chilies
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Finely chopped Onion
- 1 chopped Tomato
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala (Optional)
Instructions

Take chicken in a bowl and wash it really well.

Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice and mix well.

Cover and rest the chicken for at least 30 minutes.

Heat up a pan on medium heat.

Add cumin seeds, black peppercorns, javitri, green cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, dry red chilies and roast them a little.

Do not roast until these changes their color.

Roast until the spices begin to release nice aroma on medium heat or for about 3-4 minutes.

Transfer the roasted masalas into a blender jar and blend into a fine powder.

Masala for Tawa chicken is ready.

Heat up oil in a pan.

Add marinated chicken and fry it for about 4-5 minutes or until chicken gets transparent white color.

Add finely chopped onion, tomato, and mix well.

Fry for another 5-7 minutes.

After about 5 minutes add fresh masala, salt and mix well.

Add water and mix well.

Cook the chicken until it looks nice and soft.

After cooking the chicken on medium heat for another 8-10 minutes, check if it is cooked.

Add garam masala and cook for just about a minute.

Adding garam masala is optional. You can skip it if you don’t want.
