Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 1 Lb fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1/3 C granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp salted butter
  • 1 Tsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 Tsp ground ginger

Instructions

  1. 1

Place a small saucepan over medium heat and let it warm up for a few minutes. Once heated, add the butter. Let it melt and swirl it around to coat the bottom of the pan evenly.

  2. 2

Add the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice to the pan. Stir everything together well until the sugar has dissolved, coating the berries evenly.

  3. 3

Stir in the vanilla extract and ground ginger, making sure it's mixed thoroughly. Cover the pan with a lid.

  4. 4

Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes. The strawberries will soften, and the sauce will become fragrant.

  5. 5

After simmering, turn off the heat and remove the lid. Use a spoon to skim off any foam that might have formed on the surface of the sauce.

  6. 6

Transfer the strawberry sauce into a container and let it cool completely. Once it’s cool, cover the container and refrigerate for up to 7 days. Serve it chilled or reheat it if you prefer it warm. Dassit!
