- 12 oz okra (/ ladies' fingers (340g))
- 1 tbsp dried shrimp ((washed and soaked for 10 minutes) (8g))
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic ((minced))
- 1 tbsp sambal belacan
- 1 tsp sweet soy sauce
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp lime juice

Rinse and drain okra. Cut off the stalks and trim the ends. Place in a steaming rack.

Drain dried shrimp and chop coarsely.

In a small saucepan, heat vegetable oil over low heat. Add dried shrimp and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Add minced garlic and continue to stir fry for another 30 seconds.

Place sambal belacan in a small bowl. Transfer cooked dried shrimps and garlic into the bowl. Add sweet soy sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and lime juice. Mix well and set aside.

Place okra in a steamer and steam for 7 to 8 minutes. When pierced with a fork, okra should be tender. Transfer steamed okra to a shallow bowl.

Spoon dressing over steamed okra. Serve immediately.
