Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp corn starch (see note 1)
  • 1 tbsp peanuts (optional, roasted and crushed)

Instructions

    Heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

    Add hoisin sauce and peanut butter. Saute for another 30 seconds.

    Add the water and bring it up to a boil.

    Mix corn starch with 1 tbsp of water and add to the sauce. Simmer until it thickens (1-2 minutes).

    Pour it into a bowl and set aside to cool for 5 minutes. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools. Top with peanuts right before serving.
