Lemongrass Black Tea लेमन ग्रासको चिया
My love for this tea started when I had my first sip in the remote village of Madhesh in the Southeast of Nepal. Locals served it as a post-meal drink made from freshly picked lemongrass, ginger, and black tea. I was amazed by the harmonious blend of flavours and the refreshing taste that left me feeling rejuvenated. This tea has now become a staple in my daily routine and really lifts up my spirits. The recipe for this incredible tea is simple, yet yields an unforgettable flavour. If you are a fan of the zesty taste of lemongrass, then this tea is perfect for you. It is the ideal beverage to start your day on a fresh note or to unwind after a long, tiring day.

- 2 teaspoon Brown Sugar (Add more or less according to taste)
- 3 Dried Bayleaf
- 1 inch Fresh Ginger piece
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- 2 green cardamoms
Instructions
- 1
Boil the Water
- 2
Fill a small pot with the desired amount of water and place it on medium heat. Let it come to a gentle boil.

Prepare the Lemongrass and infuse
- 4
While the water is heating up, wash and crush the lemongrass slightly with a pestle or the back of a knife. Then, chop the lemongrass into small pieces.
- 5
Add the lemongrass to the boiling water. Let the lemongrass simmer in the boiling water for about 3 minutes, allowing the flavours to infuse.

Crush the bay leaves slightly in your hands and add them to the pot along with a small piece of ginger and crushed cardamom pods. Allow the mixture to simmer for an additional 3 minutes.

Then add the black tea leaves, sugar, and a pinch of salt to the pot. Stir the mixture and let it come to a gentle boil for 30 seconds.

Remove the pot from heat and strain the tea using a fine tea strainer. This will remove the lemongrass and other spices and leaves you with a smooth and flavourful cup of tea.

Serve: Pour the tea into cups or a teapot and enjoy it hot or let it cool for an iced tea.
