  • 2 Chinese Sausages
  • 2 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs
  • 2 Green Onions, White Parts
  • 3 Slices Ginger
  • 5 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp MSG
  • 1/8 tbsp White Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 Cups Long Grain Jasmine Rice
  • 1 3/4 Cups Water
  • 1 tbsp Chicken Bouillon
  • Green Onions, Green Parts

Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken:

  2. 2

Trim excess fat from the chicken thighs, then slice against the grain into strips. In a bowl, combine the chicken with smashed garlic, sliced green onion whites, ginger, oyster sauce, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, MSG, white pepper, oil, and cornstarch. Toss thoroughly to coat every piece. Cover and refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes

  3. 3

    Rinse and Season the Rice:

  4. 4

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water, swirling and draining, 3 to 4 times until the water runs mostly clear. Add the rinsed rice, 1¾ cups water, and chicken bouillon to your rice cooker pot. Stir to fully dissolve the bouillon

  5. 5

    Layer and Cook:

  6. 6

Slice the Chinese sausage on a slight bias into coins, then mix it into the marinated chicken. Layer the chicken and sausage directly on top of the rice and pour every drop of marinade from the bowl over the top. Do not stir. Cook on standard white rice mode

  7. 7

Once the rice cooker switches to warm, let the pot rest with the lid on for 10 minutes. Open the lid, remove and discard the ginger slices, add green onions on top, and then fluff and mix the rice well so the marinade and juices distribute evenly throughout

  8. 8

    Serve:

  9. 9

Spoon into bowls, making sure to scoop a little of everything. Garnish generously with sliced green onions and enjoy immediately
