Pulled Pork Dry Rub

A blend of smoky paprika, sweet brown sugar, and spicy cayenne, it's great on more than just pulled pork-- try it with brisket or chicken! Tip: toss a marshmallow in with the rub to keep the brown sugar from hardening—it sounds weird, but it works like a charm.

Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 1 C light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 C kosher salt
  • 2 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 Tbsp hot paprika
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp black pepper (coarsely cracked)
  • 1 Tbsp ground mustard
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 Tbsp dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tsp ground ginger

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix everything together very well. Dassit!

  2. 2

Oh, store it in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place to keep it fresh. To prevent the sugar from getting hard add a marshmallow. It sounds weird, but it works I promise!
