Bananacue
As someone who grew up eating this, I'll show you exactly how to get bananacue right at home. This is the ultimate Filipino street snack: crispy, caramelized bananas skewered on a stick, and it only needs 2 ingredients!

Ingredients
Quantities are shown as originally provided.
- 6 saba bananas (if using from frozen, let them defrost completely first)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (add more or less to preference)
- Neutral oil, for frying
Instructions
- 1
Heat about 2 inches of oil in a large pan or wok over high heat. Fry the bananas for about 3 to 5 minutes, just until they just become golden in color.
- 2
Sprinkle in the brown sugar, and lower the heat to medium to prevent the sugar from burning. The brown sugar should begin to caramelize and melt, which will coat the bananas. Gently stir and occasionally flip the bananas while frying to ensure the sugar adequately covers each banana.

Once the bananas are coated with the caramel, thread onto bamboo skewers (I like doing two bananas per skewer). Transfer these to a wire rack to drain and cool completely, about 5 to 7 minutes before enjoying.
