Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • ~1 cup shaved ice
  • 1/4 cup evaporated milk, to preference
  • 1-2 tbsp ube halaya (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tbsp monggo (sweetened red mung beans)
  • 1 tbsp langka (sweetened jackfruit strips)
  • 1 tbsp saba (sweetened Filipino bananas)
  • 1 tbsp kaong (sugar palm fruit)
  • 1 tbsp macapuno (coconut sport strings)
  • 1 tbsp nata de coco (coconut gel)
  • 1 scoop ube ice cream
  • 1 tbsp pinipig, toasted
  • Leche flan (store-bought or homemade)
  • Chocolate wafer sticks

Instructions

    In a tall glass or bowl, add in all the ingredients for the mix-ins (you can spread the ube halaya along the sides of the glass for a more traditional look).

    Fill your bowl with the shaved ice and drizzle in the evaporated milk.

    Top the Halo-Halo with a scoop of ube ice cream, slices of leche flan, chocolate wafer sticks, and the toasted pinipig.
