  • 1 lb (500g) lump crabmeat (I used two 2-lb (900g) live Dungeness crab)
  • 1 package cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  1. 1

Boil the Dungeness crab in boiling water until cooked, about 8 minutes. Drain and let cool. Pick the crabmeat from the crab and set aside.

  2. 2

Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C). In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, Old Bay Seasoning, ground mustard, and cayenne pepper until well blended. Add the crabmeat and toss gently.

  3. 3

Spread the mixture in a baking dish and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve immediately with sliced French bread or crackers.
