Ingredients
- 6 ripe peaches
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 lemon (, the zest and juice)
- 15.2 oz vanilla cake mix box
- 3/4 cup salted butter (, thinly sliced, room temperature)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 350ºF (175ºC), without the fan on. Grease a 9x13-inch pan with some butter.
- 2
Slice the peaches into 6-8 wedges each. Put them in a big bowl together with sugar, cornstarch, zest, and lemon juice. Mix well using a spatula.
- 3
Pour a bit more than half of the peaches into the pan, with all the juice. Spread evenly.
- 4
Using your hand, sprinkle the cake mix evenly on top. I like to use my fingers after that and spread it all around, just for good measure.
- 5
Arrange the thinly sliced butter on top, making sure they're spread out evenly. Reserve 4-5 slices to put on the rest of the peaches later. Place the rest of the peaches randomly. Put the reserved butter slices on top of them.
- 6
Optional but I highly recommend mixing brown sugar and cinnamon powder and sprinkling them on top.
- 7
Bake on the middle rack for 50 minutes or until it's bubbly on the sides and the top looks golden brown. Cool slightly before serving, enjoy!
