Ingredients

- 3 tbsp oil
- 3 chilies (adjust to taste)
- 3 dried chilies (optional, adjust to taste)
- 3 cloves of garlic (peeled)
- 9 oz ground beef
- 1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1/2 tbsp white sugar
- a pinch of white pepper (optional)
- 1 cup holy basil

Finely chop your beef if not using pre-ground.

Pound garlic and chilies into a coarse paste using a mortar and pestle (or pulse in a food processor).

Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add the chili-garlic paste and stir-fry for about 20 seconds until fragrant.

Add the beef and stir-fry until no longer pink.

Stir in black soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and the optional white pepper. Mix well to coat the beef evenly.
