Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 6 to 7 fresh ripe guavas
  • 4 cups water
  • ⅓ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Start by washing the guavas thoroughly. Then, remove the ends and slice them in halves.

  2. 2

Place the guava into a blender and add the 4 cups water. Blend until you have a smooth puree.

  3. 3

Using a fine mesh strainer placed over a large container, strain the puree to remove the seeds. Transfer the juice to a pitchen, add the ⅓ cup sugar and mix until it dissolves.

  4. 4

Squeeze fresh lime juice if using any, mix and taste. If it needs more sugar, add a little bit at the time to your liking.

  5. 5

Refrigerate the Agua de Guayaba until it's well chilled. Serve in a glass with ice and enjoy!
