Christmas Sugar Cookies
It's that wonderful time of the year again, time for the baking, decorating and eating of Christmas Sugar Cookies! Lots of fun creative work but it sure pays off in the end when you have a holiday cookie jar full of twinkling Christmas trees, naughty gingerbread men, cute cuddly bears and polka dotted stockings!

Ingredients
Quantities are shown as originally provided.
- 2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cup icing sugar
- 2 eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 5 cup all purpose flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp salt
Instructions

Allow butter to soften.

Cream softened butter and sugar together. Add egg and extract and mix.

Mix flour with baking powder and salt.

Add dry, little by little, to the wet mix until incorporated. The dough should not stick. If sticky add a bit more flour.

Allow dough to rest 5 minutes.

Preheat oven 400°F.
- 7
Flour working surface and roll dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out cookie shapes. Place onto parchment lined baking pan.

Bake for 7-8 minutes until just golden on edges. Cool completely before decorating.
