Sri Lankan beans curry(bonchi curry).
Beans curry, is a flavorful and aromatic curry made with fresh green beans cooked in creamy coconut milk. My bean curry needs just 6 ingredients and can be cooked in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients
- Ingredients mentioned below use standard measuring cups and spoons.
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 large onion
- 3 clove garlic sliced fine
- 1/2 a piece of cinnamon
- A sprig of curry leaves
- 1/2 a teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 500 g Green beans
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- Salt to season
- 1/2 a cup to 1 cup of coconut milk(optional ingredient for gravy)

Have all the ingredients prepared and ready.

Wash the beans, trim the ends, and remove the strings on the sides of the beans.

Cut the beans into two or three pieces and cut them through the middle of the beans.

Pour the oil into a large frying pan. Heat the oil and add the sliced onions, sliced garlic, cinnamon, and curry leaves.

Cook until the onions turn translucent.

Add the beans to the frying pan. Season with salt.

Cook the beans for 5 minutes, mixing the ingredients well. Let the beans turn soft. when the beans are slightly fried, add the cumin powder and pepper powder. combine well.

If you need a little gravy, pour in 1/2 a cup to 1 cup of coconut milk, stir and cook for a few minutes.

Reduce the heat to low and cook for a further 10 minutes until you have a thick gravy.

Taste and season with salt as needed. Serve warm with a Sri Lankan rice and curry menu.
