Lao Steak with Jeow Bee
Lao steak is essential to Lao barbecues. It goes perfect with a traditional Lao dip called jeow bee. Make sure to eat all of this with sticky rice.

Ingredients
Quantities are shown as originally provided.
- 1 tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Msg
- ½ tsp sugar
- ½ tsp Black pepper
- ½ tsp Onion powder
- ½ tsp Coriander powder
- ½ tsp Paprika
- 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Garlic (3 cloves), minced
- 1 rib eye steak
- 2 tbsp crushed pepper
- 1 tbsp khao kua
- ½ tsp msg
- 1 tbsp padaek
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp beef bile
- Little sliced green onion and cilantro
- 1 tbsp water

In a small bowl, add all the dry seasonings from salt to dill seed and mix

Pat steak dry with paper towel

Season the steak with the dry mix on both sides

Add oyster sauce and garlic then rub seasoning evenly

Marinate steak for 1 hour or over night

Preheat oven to 450F
- 7
Heat an iron cast skillet for 5 mins until very hot, add vegetable oil

Cook each side for 2 mins then place in oven for 6 minutes

Take out steak and check if it reaches 130 F for medium rare

Let it rest for 5 mins then enjoy

In a bowl, add the dry ingredients: crushed pepper, khao kua, msg, and mix

Then add wet ingredients, padaek, fish sauce, beef bile and mix

Then add the herbs: green onion and cilantro then mix
