Fattoush Salad a Fantastic Meal on its Own

Fattoush Salad سلطة فتوش is simply a large bowl of salad that contains a variety of different fresh vegetables the unique thing about this salad is that it includes pieces of toasted khubez (Arabic flatbread) which in return can make this salad a meal on its own. It’s known that this salad was originated in Northern Lebanon. And, now it’s very popular in Palestine as well.

Ingredients

Quantities are shown as originally provided.

  • 1 romaine lettuce washed and chopped
  • 1 stem purslane washed and chopped
  • 3 small to mediums size Persian cucumbers chopped
  • 1 cup of cherry tomatoes chopped into two pieces each
  • 2 green onions stem removed and chopped
  • 4-5 radishes stem removed and chopped
  • 1 bunch parsley stems removed and chopped
  • ½ bunch mint stems removed and chopped
  • ½ teaspoon sumac
  • ½-1 cup multigrain pita chips or 1 pita bread toasted and cut into small pieces
  • 1 lemon juice (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons feta cheese crumbled

Instructions

    In a large bowl place all the vegetables together.

    In a cup mix lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and sumac pour over vegetables and mix well.

    Add toasted bread and feta cheese
