Ingredients
Quantities are shown as originally provided.
- 400 g Mango (diced )
- 150 g Granulated Sugar
- 120 ml White Vinegar
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Chilli Flakes (crushed)
- 1 tsp Salt (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- 1
In a saucepan, combine the diced mangoes, granulated sugar, and white vinegar. Place it over medium heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- 2
Add the minced garlic, crushed chilli flakes, and salt to the mango mixture. Stir well to combine.
- 3
Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the mangoes have softened and the sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 4
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- 5
Using a blender or immersion blender, puree the mixture until smooth. Be careful when blending hot liquids.
- 6
Once blended, return the sauce to the saucepan and place it over low heat. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to ensure it's fully combined and heated through.
- 7
Remove the sweet mango chilli sauce from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 8
Transfer the sauce to sterilized jars or bottles. Seal them tightly.
