  • About 3 ounces almonds, skinless, halved
  • 8 ounces marzipan, coarsely grated
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Separate the egg into yolk and white.

Mix powdered sugar and flour together. Add egg white and marzipan. Mix with a dough hook in a mixer until smooth, or knead by hand.

  4. 4

Roll dough into balls about the size of walnuts. Add 1–2 tablespoons of flour if the dough is too sticky.

Place cookies onto the lined cookie sheet. Mix egg yolk with milk and brush over each cookie.

  6. 6

Press three almond halves into each cookie, tips pointing upward.

  7. 7

Bake for 15–20 minutes or until pale golden.

  8. 8

Place cookies on a rack and allow to cool completely.
